My mini is finished !

I finished it a couple of minutes ago and I love it ! I love the way it turned out :)
I'd like to thank everybody that helped me figure out what to do ! I wish I could have tried everything !

It's quite big for a mini I think, but it's under the size requirements for the Modern Mini Challenge so I'm good. I don't know how to mesure an hexagon, but I think it's 24 inches (from one point to another).

I'm also going to enter the Sew-vivor contest with that. Wish me luck !! The prizes are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G ! The winner gets $150 gift certificate from the Fat Quarter Shop (and this is just one of many many prizes). Can you imagine how much fabric one could get with that much money? I go crazy just thinking about it !

So anyway, I'm sure you just want to see it right ? Well here it is !

(I might take a picture on a white background for my official entry... I still think it looks good on this wall though!)
I used some Joel Dewberry (Herringbone - blue), Anna Maria Horner (the red print), Bonnie & Camille (the green print - which I'm in love with. I got it in all 6 colors), Sandy Henderson (Henna Garden in pink), Lizzy House (yellow print) and two others that I can't remember (and I'm too lazy to go downstairs to find the fabric).

Are you participating to the Modern Mini Challenge ? If your mini is already done, leave me a ling to a Flickr account or blog post, I'd love to see what you came up with !

We have a winner !

First of all, I'd like to wish you a very happy Valentines Day :-)

Thank you to everyone who wanted to give my fugly fabric an loving home ! The lucky winner is :
The winner has been contacted. If I don't hear from her in the next week, I'll pick someone else !
I'll add more fabric, as I said I would because I found it :)

I wish I could have send everybody a little something !!

When thing get a little out of control

This is exactly what happened here !

Let me show you what I'm talking about (I am embarrassed!) :

You are looking at 21 half yards. Really. 21. In a month. I'm crazy.
But I can't resist ! Now I want those Pezzy prints, but I think I'll wait a couple weeks so I don't feel too bad.

In my defense, I had to buy some fabric because of my bee mates. They almost all requested orange/yellow and had almost nothing !

The funny thing is that I decided to take a picture of my stash every month (starting on february) to see how (fast) it grows... I think it grew quite a lot this month !
Did you buy any fabric recently ? Do you feel bad when you buy some ? Tell me I'm not the only one please.

An early birthday present

The title says it all ! My mom gave me my birthday present a little early (my birthday is February 27th)

Do you want to know what it is ?

I played with it for an hour or two. It does E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G you ever dreamed about and I really mean everything.
There are thousands of blocks, quilt patterns... You can import your own fabric so you can see what your quilt will look like before it's done. You can even create labels ! You can create quilt patterns...

Anybody wanna give me private lessons ? I wish I knew everything already !

Fabric that makes me happy

Liberty of London - Tana Lawn

Echo - Lotta Jansdotter

Metro Living - Robert Kaufman

What (collection of) fabric makes you happy ?

Fugly Fabric Party

Fugly Fabric Party

It's funny because this week end, I went through all of my fabric and I found some that I didn't like anymore. I really didn't know what to do with them so I just let them there...

So, here are my fugly fabrics (sorry, really bad picture. It's dark here) :

I think the first print is from Patricia Bravo, the second one is called "Girly Girls Vine". The three next are from Joann (I think) and the last one is from Patricia Bravo. I might add more if I find it..

If you want them, just leave me a comment and I'll pick a winner on February 14th !

A mini in progress + I need your help !

Yesterday, I said I was participating in the Modern Mini Quilt Challenge and last night, I finally decided what to make.

I knew I wanted something really colorful. Maybe like a rainbow but I couldn't find anything I liked enough. But then, last night, I found this.
It's amazing right ?

Here's how it turned out :
For now, it mesures 13.5 inches. I need to finish it and I really don't know what to do.
I think I don't need anything too complicated but I am really stuck. I wanted to make scrappy log cabin triangle but I think it's going to be too much.

What would you do ?

Terrain !

I love this collection. It's such a bright and colorful collection !
I made this quilt with two charm packs:

So this would be my first finished quilt of 2012 !
It's listed in my Etsy shop and I hope someone will like it enough to buy it soon !
If it stays here for too long, I won't be able to part with it. It's funny because when I make a quilt, I need to know what I'll do with it before I even start. If I plan on selling it, than I don't get to attached to it. My boyfriend thinks it's funny...

What are you working on ?
I have so many projects in my head.. I think I need to make a list !
